Grizzly Manor Cafe is a no-frills breakfast spot nestled right on Big Bear Blvd, serving up classic American diner fare with a mountain-town charm that locals and visitors alike appreciate. This place thrives on its hearty portions and a welcoming, slightly rustic atmosphere that feels like a cozy pit stop after a morning hike or a chilly winter walk by the lake.

Known especially for their generous, stacked pancakes—ranging from blueberry to chocolate chip—and fillings like sausage and chorizo, Grizzly Manor delivers a lineup of filling breakfast combos including French toast and their signature scrambles. The cafe atmosphere is relaxed but lively, with walls decked in stickers and signed dollar bills left behind by past visitors, adding a sense of shared community history. It’s the kind of place where regulars are greeted warmly and newcomers quickly feel part of the scene.

The seating is modest and practical, which explains the early-morning crowds before the weekend rush. Arriving early on weekends is a smart move if you want to avoid a wait, as the cozy interior fills up fast. Its proximity to Big Bear Lake and the village makes it a convenient stop for those fueling up before outdoor activities or winding down after exploring the area.

Drink options go beyond the standard coffee cup — hot apple cider and French vanilla cappuccinos offer something a little different on cooler days, while fresh hot coffee served generously keeps the morning energy up. Those who enjoy a side of hash browns, biscuits and gravy, or build-your-own omelets will find plenty to choose from without digging into extravagant menus—just solid, straightforward comfort food.

All told, Grizzly Manor Cafe works best for early risers and breakfast lovers who appreciate sizable portions in a friendly, unpretentious setting. Whether you’re coming off the trails or just looking for a classic American breakfast close to the lake, this spot meets practical needs with a warm, lived-in feel that reflects the Big Bear community’s easy-going spirit.

Great little cafe serving breakfast food. Massive pancakes. Tasty food. Great atmosphere. I loved the stickers/money notes on the way from the different visitors whom have stopped by. Staff were super friendly too- highly recommend.

This is our favorite restaurant in Big Bear and it’s truly the best. I highly suggest getting there early as it gets busy and there aren’t many tables inside. Everyone is so friendly and the food is incredible. Their pancakes are unbeatable!

Came for lunch around 1pm with a few people. Was a decent experience, staff was amicable and food was served fairly quickly. This is a cozy space in which we waited 15 minutes to be seated. Food was okay, price point to proportions is great. Pancakes were cooked and moist. Eggs and hash browns were also good. Parking available on site.

Absolutely wonderful little Cafe. If your hungry, definitely ask for the Famous Fat Pat Special. Great atmosphere, lots to take in and only minutes from the lake or the village.

Took advantage of a short line to this small and popular restaurant. This was our first visit, so we didn't know what to expect. Any choice of food would be good, so no need to worry about getting something you don't like. The french toast combo was excellent. It comes with eggs and bacon, or other choice of side. The french toast is delicious and fluffy. Food is hearty and very large portions, so no one cleared their plate. One pancake covered the plate and was extremely large; I don't recommended ordering more than one. Coffee is good but never got a refill, which is needed for the large servings. Service is fairly fast, the protein came out quickly and the main order was delivered hot. Atmosphere is fun, walls are covered with dollars, stickers and other historical nostalgia. It's a very small restaurant and tables fill the room to capacity; sound level can become intense. The room is quite warm from the kitchen heat but the weather is cold, so the room regulates when the door is used. Be sure to close the door tight when entering or departing. You can read up on the history and the pancake challenge for $50. Definitely a local favorite and worth waiting to have the GMC experience.

They were so busy today for Christmas eve service and they were all working so hard trying to accommodate everyone as soon as possible. You guys have a great team of people working together! The pancakes are huge! Delicious! And a cup of hot chocolate is just what I needed for this cold day at big bear. We will be back

The portions are huuuuuuge! Pancakes are the biggest I’ve ever seen. Service was good and my coffee was always full. I could see the cooks getting down in the kitchen and it shows that they love what they do.

This place is one of the best breakfast spots in town. It’s always packed but if you can get in it’s totally worth the wait. Staff is super sweet, food comes out quickly and is hot, super rad atmosphere with the stickers and dollars on the walls. One of favs to stop when we’re in town.
